Meet Samin Yasar Saad, a dedicated mechanical engineer and development enthusiast from Chattogram, Bangladesh. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology, where he studied from December 2019 to July 2025. His research centers on metamaterials and material-engineering challenges, using finite element analysis and experimental testing to turn simulations into validated hardware. He contributed to vehicle development with Team Annexe RUET in the Formula Student program, handling assembly, systems integration, and test driving to understand design behavior under real conditions. Since January 2024, Samin has served as Co-Lead at Youth for Policy, managing leadership and team coordination for community impact initiatives and policy advocacy. Samin also holds position as the Director (Administration) of Bangladesh Socio-Cultural Forum (BSCF). In March 2024, he interned at GPH Ispat, working on rolling mill maintenance and operations, also contributing to quality control assurance and ensuring safety measures. From March to April 2023, he interned at Karnafuly Shipbuilders Limited, focusing on propeller inspection. His projects include the Formula Kart Design Challenge Season 7 in 2023, providing technical support as a technical team crew, as well as pilot of the vehicle. Samin also holds certifications as Electrical Co-Lead for Team Annexe RUET and a workshop on Basic FESEM Training from BUET. He volunteered as Chartered President of Leo Club of Chittagong Solidarity from 2018 to 2023 and as a member of Lions Clubs International from 2023 to 2024. His skills include AutoCAD, research, leadership, quality assurance, automotive work, vehicle assembly, and on-track driving. He published a 2024 ICMIME conference paper on mechanical properties of Gerbera stem-inspired dodecagonal structures, available on ResearchGate. Samin aims to apply his engineering expertise and event coordination skills to create impactful community solutions while pursuing mechanical engineering roles.
